Reminder: Water Production Data for August Due to State Board on Sept. 15

Urban water suppliers serving more than 3,000 connections or supplying more than 3,000 acre-feet of water annually are required to submit the next round of monthly water production data to the State Water Resources Control Board by Sept. 15.

Under emergency regulations adopted by the State Board in July, urban water suppliers are required to report monthly water production data via an online reporting portal. Wholesale water suppliers that do not serve any retail customers are not required to submit monitoring reports.

The monitoring report must include the amount of potable water produced by the urban water supplier in the preceding calendar month, including water provided by a wholesaler. The report must compare that amount to the amount produced in the same calendar month in 2013. Following is a link to the online reporting tool that should be used to submit your data:

The first report was due Aug. 15 for both June and July production data. Subsequent monitoring reports are required to be submitted on the 15th of each month. The monitoring report due Sept. 15 is for the month of August.

State Water Resources Control Board staff reported this week that about 50 water suppliers did not submit the required reports by Aug. 15. Agencies that have not yet submitted reports are urged to do so immediately and to contact Eric Oppenheimer of the State Board at Eric.Oppenheimer@waterboards.ca.gov<mailto:eric.oppenheimer@waterboards.ca.gov>  or 916-445-5960 to let him know your report is on the way.

Beginning Oct. 15, 2014, urban water suppliers also will be required to submit estimates of water use in gallons per capita day for their residential customers (R-GPCD).  Additional guidance on how to report R-GPCD will be forthcoming from the State Board.
