Victor Valley holds Ceremony to Celebrate Carbon-Neutral Treatment Plant |
Today, the California Association of Sanitation Agencies (CASA) joined the Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority (VVWRA) at a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating their new “Omnivore” renewable energy system, a retrofitted digester that will contribute towards the Authority becoming 90% to 100% energy neutral by 2015. State Water Board Votes to Adopt Water Quality Fee Regulations |
The State Water Resources Control Board voted on Tuesday September 23 to adopt the proposed Water Quality Fee Regulations for Fiscal Year 2014 – 2015. The new structure will keep NPDES fees static, but with a one-time 3.2% discount for this fiscal year. Read more.

Congress Votes to Prevent Government Shutdown |
Before departing last week, the House and Senate passed a stop-gap measure to extend funding for governmental operations until December 11, 2014. Congress is scheduled to return in mid-November and will then have less than one month to produce a year-long budget agreement. Read more.

Wheeler Institute for Water Law & Policy Kicks Off Clean Water Act (CWA) Citizen Suit Research

Last week, CASA executed a final project agreement with the UC Berkeley Wheeler Institute for Water Law & Policy (Wheeler Institute), which will allow researchers to begin their work on a white paper examining enforcement of water quality laws and regulations in the wastewater sector. Read more
