In addition to informative presentations, the 101st AnnualConference will also include tours of the Ports of Longview and St. Helensa visit to amazing Mount St. Helens volcano,ceremonial festivities by the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, golf at Three Rivers Golf Course, and a minor league baseball game with APP leaders throwing out the ceremonial first pitch! The trip to Mount St. Helens volcano will include special presentations to learn how the Columbia River region’s maritime industry dealt with the aftermath of the eruption in 1980. Don’t miss this unique opportunity!

ANNUAL CONFERENCE COMPANION ACTIVITIES
  Your companion is welcome to join you at the APP Annual Conference for golf on Sunday morning (nominal green fee applies), wonderful meals throughout the conference, Monday’s tours of the Port of Longview and Port of St. Helens with lunch, and Wednesday’s tour of Mount St. Helens (all with APP delegates).

In addition to these events, we have planned free special companion tours just for them. Tuesday will feature a visit to Zojo Coffee Roasters for an up-close look at how coffee is produced and roasted, followed by a historical walking tour of downtown Longview featuring the Civic Circle, the famed Nutty Narrows squirrel bridge, and the restored Shay logging locomotive. Lunch will follow at the nearby Olde Creekside Cafe.

 

On Wednesday’s trip to Mount St. Helens, during the delegate plenary session in the morning, companions will travel to the

Mount St. Helens Forest Learning Center to walk through a lifelike forest and experience the Eruption Chamber. Companions will learn about forest recovery, reforestation and conservation of forest resources.

Remember, each delegate is welcome to bring one companion at no additional charge!
