Proposed FY 2015-2020

San Francisco Bay Ferry Fare Program

San Francisco Bay Ferry is seeking public input on its proposal to establish a FY 2015-2020 Fare Program.  The proposed Fare Program will focus on establishing consistent fare category definitions, streamlining fare products offered, and promoting a consistent level of discount pricing. These initial changes would be implemented beginning in November 2014 for all San Francisco Bay Ferry services.  A second component of the Program is to introduce annual fare increases that are designed to offset inflationary cost increases and rising operational and fuel costs.  Fare increases would be implemented annually beginning in July 2015 for the duration of the proposed Fare Program.

On May 8, 2014 the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) Board of Directors authorized staff to seek public input on the proposed Fare Program.  As part of its outreach efforts, staff has scheduled a series of public informational meetings throughout the San Francisco Bay Ferry service area.  The meetings will be hosted in an open house format allowing riders to drop-in during the following times and locations to review the proposed Program, ask questions, and provide comments:
