Integral Consulting Inc. is expanding its engineering and water resources services in the Pacific Northwest by welcoming Principal Barry Kellems, P.E., to the Seattle, Washington, office and Senior Managing Scientist Said Amali, Ph.D., P.E., to the Portland, Oregon, office.
Mr. Kellems has 28 years of consulting engineering experience, focusing on environmental remediation of contaminated sediments, groundwater, and soils. He has prepared feasibility studies, developed cleanup action plans, and served as project design engineer for environmental dredging, sediment processing, confined disposal, conventional and reactive sediment capping, and in situ and ex situ treatment projects. He also specializes in stormwater regulatory compliance at industrial facilities and has experience in permitting, feasibility studies, design, construction, and performance monitoring of stormwater treatment facilities.
Dr. Amali has 22 years of consulting experience in groundwater resources planning and development and in site investigation and cleanup projects. He has an extensive background in soil and groundwater quality characterizations and remediation, evaluations of organic and inorganic chemical fate and transport in soils and groundwater, and groundwater supply assessments. He specializes in directing multidisciplinary and multiparty projects in which science, policy development, and public relations are intertwined. He is currently involved in developing a feasibility study for a large surface water reservoir in northeast Oregon to supply agricultural irrigation water to the area irrigators. Dr. Amali is an adjunct research professor at Portland State University and Oregon State University.

Mr. Kellems earned a B.S. in civil engineering from Oregon State University and an M.S. in environmental engineering from Cornell University. Dr. Amali holds a B.S. in agricultural engineering and an M.S. in soil science both from Oregon State University. He earned his Ph.D. in environmental soil physics from the University of California-Davis.
