CEQA Reform Effort Moves Forward as SB 731 Passes Out of Committee

_________________________________________________________________________

Today SB 731, Senator Steinberg’s CEQA reform bill, passed out of the Senate Environmental Quality Committee. We are encouraged by this progress, and recognize that SB 731 is a good starting point, but that we have a long negotiation process ahead of us to craft legislation that will provide certainty and truly accomplish meaningful reform.

Now is the time to keep the pressure on your legislators that meaningful CEQA reform should be a priority this year. As the legislative process unfolds, we will continue to call upon you to get engaged and will continue to keep you informed of the progress.
