The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Office of the General Manager, Bay-Delta Initiatives has a job opening for a Senior Resource Specialist position for a staff biologist, specializing in estuarine systems, supporting Metropolitan efforts as they relate to the Bay-Delta ecosystem, including the Bay-Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP), State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) regulatory processes, State and Federal Endangered Species Act, habitat restoration, fishery population modeling, and other scientific support.  This position will serve as Metropolitan’s lead technical resource on biological issues and will work closely with other technical staff involved in the areas of modeling, statistics, and systems analysis.  As lead person, they will be responsible for:  (1) conducting and contributing to the publication of original analysis and research,  (2) selecting and working with consultants and managing consultant contracts,  (3) giving presentations to technical and policy audiences,  (4) working with biologists and scientists/modelers from other resource and regulatory agencies and stakeholder groups, and  (5) serving as a technical expert in certain regulatory and legal proceedings.
