Committee to Host Roundtable on Ports: Jobs, Economic Development, and Trade

 

Washington, DC – Leaders of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment will host a bipartisan roundtable on Thursday to discuss ports, jobs, economic development, and trade.

 

The Nation’s waterways and ports provide critical links between U.S. goods and products, and global markets.  This forum with Subcommittee Members and maritime transportation and infrastructure stakeholders will inform the Subcommittee’s work in developing a Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) this Congress.

 

Thursday’s meeting, which was rescheduled from an earlier date, will be hosted by Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA), Committee Ranking Member Nick J. Rahall, II (D-WV), Subcommittee Chairman Bob Gibbs (R-OH), and Subcommittee Ranking Member Tim Bishop (D-NY).

 

The roundtable is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 21, 2013 in 2253 Rayburn House Office Building.  Members of the press who wish to attend please RSVP to JB@mail.house.gov or Justin.Harclerode@mail.house.gov.
