Brown-Nichols Science Award- Nominations Due August 10th

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 Brown-Nichols Science Award. Candidates for the award must meet one or more of the following criteria:

•        Conducts significant scientific research in the San Francisco Estuary and watershed.
•        Makes significant scientific contributions to the development of management strategies or policies.
•        Facilitates the practice of good science by others through management, mentoring, or collaboration.

The contributions of the candidate for the award must be broadly recognized as important among scientists, agencies and stakeholders. In addition, it is desirable that the candidate be involved in public education and outreach activities.

To nominate your favorite scientist, visit this website (http://scienceconfdeltacouncil.ca.gov/content/brown-nichols-science-award), fill out the on-line nomination form which includes a personal statement and letter(s) of support. Submissions for the award will be accepted through August 10, 2012. The Brown-Nichols Science Award will be presented at the 2012 Bay-Delta Science Conference, which will be held at the Sacramento Convention Center, October 16-18.
