A major concern of the Dredging Industry was that it could not accurately bid/offer on dredging projects due to the uncertainty of a District’s interpretation of the Site Safety and Health Officers (SSHO) requirements. As a result of the Corps evaluation, it was determined that new contract language was required to clearly articulate the SSHO and other safety personnel requirements solely for dredging projects.
