Building Upon Current Activities and Capabilities to Develop a Bay Area Disaster Recovery Action Plan

In partnership with the Bay Area public, private sector and non-profit organizations, regional agencies and associations, ABAG is spearheading the development of a Bay Area Regional Disaster Resilience Action Plan Initiative focusing on recovery and restoration after major disasters and incidents.

The Action Plan will bring together a broad range of stakeholder organizations and constituencies to share information and expertise, and enable coordination and mutual leveraging of the many productive resilience activities currently underway. The emphasis will be all-hazards with a particular focus on recovery from a major earthquake. The Action Plan will focus on reconstituting lifeline and other critical infrastructures, businesses, government services, community institutions, housing and essential services and facilities that underpin the Bay Area economy and the health, safety, and overall well-being of its citizens.
